The Partner makes a great body for construction workers because it is highly robust, high specification and can be used for extended periods without requiring a charge or download. This means that builders can use their body cameras on-site for a whole shift without needing to come back to HQ or the trailer.

If you plan to use encryption then The Partner DEMS is recommended as it streamlines this process. If you don’t need the DEMS to view encrypted footage, you can buy the camera without it. You would just need to use the free cam manager software to unlock the storage before downloading the footage. The DEMS does automate this process however. Using encryption is a requirement to be GDPR compliant which is a must for all construction companies and most builders.

You can get away without using it if you are acting as a private individual and recording in a public place. A construction company would normally be bound by GDPR and have requirements on data security, such as the requirement for encryption

Yes, the MK4 has both a 4MP CMOS sensor and twin infra-red lamps that allow you to capture footage in lowlight conditions and then automatically switches to grey scale in near darkness. It has a range of 15 metres in night time conditions which should be suifficient for most construction and builder’s sites.

The Partner MK4 offers some of the best audio recording out of any of the commonly available body cameras for construction workers. It has advanced noise filtering technology which minimises background noise and allows you to record a clear audio track.

The Partner MK4 is a one off cost with no ongoing fees or renewals. Likewise, The Partner DEMS is also a one off fee and is a lifetime license per PC. This means that if you are only running one instance of the DEMS, you only need one license now matter how many cameras you are running off of it.

It is possible to use The Partner MK4 with a Mac but it requires a special firmware that needs to be installed before dispatch. This firmware will get The Partner MK4 storage to behave like a simple USB without password protection. This means that you can just plug it in and download footage.

A cloud installation stores footage on a remote server which is accessed through the internet. Cloud solutions have ongoing fees such as license renewals and storage charges. Locally installed solutions only exist on the physical computer in front of you.

This really depends on how often your record footage. If you a recording for long periods very often, then you will need to dock and download every day. If you are only using it for severe incidents then the extra large battery and H265 encoded storage should keep you going for several days.

The Partner MK4 has two ways of attaching itself to the user. The first, and more common with personal body camera users, is the included crocodile clip. This can be used with any pocket or lipped surface on your clothing. The second, which is more common for professional users, such as construction companies, is using a KlickFast dock. The Partner MK4 box includes a KlickFast stud which allows users to use it with any official KlickFast harnesses or docks.

The Partner MK4 is a highly rugged device which was designed to handle the rigors of security and door supervision. It can take a hit and keep on going and has been drop tested to 1.8 metres with an IP67 rating. It is rugged enough to take the day to day rough and tumble of a modern construction site.
